By downloading, registering, or using the Geel Taxi application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Definitions
- "Geel Taxi" / "Platform" / "We" / "Us": The mobile application, website, and services operated by GeelTech.
- "Rider" / "User": Any individual who registers on the platform to request transportation services.
- "Driver": Any individual who registers on the platform to provide transportation services using their own vehicle.
- "Fleet Owner": A business or individual who registers vehicles and employs or manages drivers on the platform.
- "Trip" / "Ride": A transportation service booked through the platform.
- "Fare": The total amount charged to a rider for a completed trip.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
General Requirements Both
- You must be at least 18 years of age to use Geel Taxi.
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- One person may not hold multiple active accounts on the same platform role.
Driver-Specific Requirements Driver
- Possess a valid driver's license for the applicable vehicle class.
- Have a valid vehicle registration and current motor vehicle insurance.
- Pass our background verification and document review process.
- Maintain your vehicle in a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition at all times.
- Keep all submitted documents current — expired documents will result in account suspension.
3. Terms for Riders
Rider
- You may only book trips for yourself or on behalf of others with their full knowledge and consent.
- You must be at the designated pickup location at the agreed time. Excessive no-shows may result in account restrictions.
- You agree to treat drivers respectfully and with courtesy at all times.
- You must not bring any illegal substances, weapons, or items that pose a safety risk into a driver's vehicle.
- You must wear a seatbelt during the entire trip as required by local traffic law.
- You are responsible for any damage you cause to a driver's vehicle during a trip.
- You may rate drivers after each trip; false or malicious ratings are prohibited.
- Sharing your account or booking trips for commercial purposes without authorization is prohibited.
4. Terms for Drivers
Driver
- You operate as an independent contractor, not an employee of GeelTech. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with local laws.
- You must only accept and complete trips while in a safe, fit-to-drive condition. Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs judgment is strictly prohibited.
- You must follow the route suggested by the app or the most direct and reasonable route to the destination.
- You must maintain a minimum average rating as notified by the platform. Persistent low ratings may result in account suspension.
- You must not request or accept cash payments unless the platform explicitly enables a cash payment option.
- You must not solicit riders to book trips outside of the platform.
- You must treat all riders with respect, courtesy, and professionalism regardless of their background, gender, or nationality.
- Any discrimination against riders based on protected characteristics is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent deactivation.
- You are responsible for accurately updating your availability (online/offline) status.
5. Payments & Fees
Rider Payments Rider
- The fare is calculated based on base rate, distance, time, demand surges, and any applicable taxes or tolls.
- The estimated fare shown before booking is indicative. The final fare may vary due to route changes or waiting time.
- Payment is processed automatically through your saved payment method upon trip completion.
- You may add a tip for the driver at any time after the trip; tips are 100% passed to the driver.
- Promotional codes and wallet credits are subject to their own terms and expiry dates.
Driver Earnings Driver
- Geel Taxi deducts a service fee / commission (as communicated at onboarding or in the driver app) from each completed trip fare.
- Earnings are disbursed to your registered bank account on the schedule specified in the driver app.
- Earnings from disputed or fraudulent trips may be withheld pending investigation.
- Geel Taxi reserves the right to adjust commission rates with 30 days' advance notice to drivers.
6. Cancellations & Refunds

- You may cancel a trip at no charge within a grace period after booking (typically 2–5 minutes, as shown in the app).
- Cancellations after the grace period or once the driver is en route may incur a cancellation fee.
- In the event of a no-show, the full cancellation fee applies.
Driver Cancellations Driver
- Drivers should only cancel a trip for legitimate reasons (e.g., safety concern, vehicle breakdown).
- Repeated or unjustified cancellations will negatively affect your rating and may result in penalties or deactivation.
Refunds
- Refunds for overcharges or service issues will be reviewed and processed within 5–10 business days.
- To request a refund, use the in-app support feature or email [email protected].
7. Code of Conduct & Safety
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited for all users Both and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban:
- Verbal abuse, harassment, threats, or intimidation directed at any person
- Physical assault or threatening behavior of any kind
- Discrimination based on race, religion, gender, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or providing false information
- Using the platform for any illegal activity
- Recording other users without their consent
- Tampering with GPS data, faking locations, or exploiting platform bugs
- Creating fake accounts or manipulating the rating system
Users involved in a safety incident should use the SOS / Emergency feature in the app, which alerts our safety team and shares your real-time location.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, software, and technology comprising the Geel Taxi platform are the exclusive property of GeelTech or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform solely for its intended purpose.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of our platform without prior written consent from GeelTech.
9. Limitation of Liability
Geel Taxi is a technology platform that facilitates connections between riders and independent drivers. We do not provide transportation services directly.
- We are not liable for any injury, property damage, loss, or delay arising from a trip.
- We are not responsible for the actions or omissions of drivers or riders.
- Our maximum liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the specific trip in question.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service; the platform is provided "as is".
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
10. Suspension & Termination
Geel Taxi reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time for:
- Violation of any provision of these Terms
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Failure to maintain required documentation (drivers)
- Persistent low ratings or high cancellation rates
- Any conduct that harms the reputation or operation of the platform
You may also voluntarily close your account at any time via the app settings or our account deletion page. Outstanding amounts owed must be settled before closure.
11. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which GeelTech is registered. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the applicable arbitration body in GeelTech's jurisdiction. Class-action lawsuits are waived to the extent permitted by law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via:
- A push notification in the Geel Taxi app
- An email to your registered address
- A notice on this page with an updated effective date
If you continue to use the platform after the revised Terms take effect, you are deemed to have accepted the changes. If you do not agree, you must stop using the platform and delete your account.
